Packing is all done. Documents printed. Now I'm just filling the iPod with some good tunes. I had dinner with my family tonight. It was nice to have that before I leave.
I'm so excited to go on this trip. I've never really been out of North America. (Canada counts as a separate country!) I am ready for my world to be turned upside down. I studied a lot about India in college and taught about it a bit while student teaching. Not that those experiences in any why shape or form will prepare me for the adventure ahead of me, but I'm excited to go somewhere I've studied about.
The really nerdy side of me is interested to see how this former English colony is making a name for itself so soon after independence. (India won it's independence in 1947 - and yes, I'm a nerd). I am also looking forward to a change in scenery, both physically and culturally. I think it will do me some good.
I probably won't be able to sleep much tonight.
India, here I come!
